Marc Hauser is Counsel and co-Vice Chair of the Cannabis Practice Team at Reed Smith LLP, a global law firm. Marc’s entire practice is focused on the cannabis industry (both non-hemp cannabis and industrial hemp), providing sophisticated legal services to industry participants nationally, and helping companies build relationships, manage risk, and get business done in constantly-shifting regulatory environments. Marc’s clients run the gamut from multistate operators to startups, market-leading ancillary businesses, investors and financial institutions, retailers and CPG manufacturers, REITs and lenders, while Reed Smith’s broader Cannabis Practice Team has dozens of lawyers worldwide advising on what makes cannabis different. He is also the author of Cannabis Musings, an occasional missive on things happening in the industry. Marc has over 21 years of experience as a deal and capital markets lawyer. As in-house counsel, Marc worked alongside his investment, tax, and accounting colleagues on billions of dollars of complex transactions across industries and asset classes. Now back in private practice, Marc provides the same practical, business-oriented approach to his clients.
