MJBizCon 2020 Creates Innovative Digital Event Experience As In-Person Event Is Cancelled
Updated October 6, 2020
Every year since 2012, we have gathered at MJBizCon to learn, grow and create deep community across the global cannabis industry. In this most challenging year, we all hoped that by now our world, country and the state of Nevada would have overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling us to return to all get together in person once again. We’ve been monitoring the situation closely with our partners in Las Vegas, and unfortunately, we have now received official word from the Las Vegas Convention Center that they are still unable to host an event of our scale this year. This followed the announcement from the governor of Nevada that, while relaxing some restrictions on in-person gatherings, continues to prevent an event of our size from taking place due to the ongoing impact of coronavirus and the risk of spread. Without a timeframe in which the continued restrictions will be reviewed again, and understanding that attendees and exhibitors need time to plan their attendance and participation, we believe the only fair course of action to everyone is to cancel the in-person portion of our event for 2020.
But ours is an industry that won’t be stopped, and out of adversity comes opportunity. Every year at MJBizCon exhibitors bring incredible new ideas and technologies to the event that help us drive our businesses and the industry forward. This year, we are channeling that same spirit of innovation to reimagine the whole MJBizCon event and find new ways to unite and inspire the industry.
In 2020, MJBizCon attendees will discover an exceptional five-week digital event experience starting on November 2 that will deliver the insights, connections, product demonstrations and networking opportunities that are synonymous with the world’s largest cannabis business event. Over 40 speakers will deliver actionable insights covering topics such as the impact of the U.S. election, regional and global market analysis, progress and opportunities in cannabis investing, science and the hemp industry. Additionally, attendees will learn from general sessions exploring the impact of technology on cultivation and operations, plus discussions about the future of marketing and retail.
This year more than ever, despite the many obstacles we’ve had to overcome, cannabis businesses have created new opportunities and invented new ways to thrive. MJBizCon 2020 offers the industry a new way of connecting and, as a way to bring as many of us together as possible, the full digital event experience is available for as little as $49, with a sampling of the experiences available to newcomers for free.
We want to thank all our attendees, exhibitors and partners who have been incredibly patient as we sought the best possible outcome for our event under the prevailing circumstances. We truly value your support and look forward to seeing you online this year and back in Las Vegas in 2021.
