A Boston-based attorney and entrepreneur, Shanel founded Ardent in 2015 to fill a need in the cannabis industry for reliable decarboxylation devices. She has experience extracting, preparing and testing cannabis compounds, but she’s also passionate about cannabis advocacy, especially issues involving equity and legalization, and education. Shanel is active in the Massachusetts marijuana space: She helped write the state’s recreational marijuana law, founded and served as co-chair of the Northeast Cannabis Coalition and is counsel to the Massachusetts Cannabis Advisory Board.
