When you meet Thunder Walker, you feel her presence before she even speaks. She’s bold, magnetic, and deeply rooted in the movement that shaped modern cannabis culture. As the CEO of Proud Mary Cannabis and founder of Pressure News Media and The Thunder Walker Experience, she’s built an empire grounded in truth, creativity, and empowerment.
Rooted in Oklahoma’s Green Zone
Based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Thunder calls her home state “the Green Zone — where legacy meets legalization and creativity meets commerce.” Oklahoma’s cannabis market is known for being one of the most dynamic and unfiltered in the country, and that’s exactly the kind of energy that fuels Thunder’s work. It’s where she’s built her businesses from the ground up and continues to pioneer space for legacy operators and creative entrepreneurs alike.
Redefining Cannabis Media and Storytelling
Through Pressure News Media and The Thunder Walker Experience, Thunder creates unapologetic, culture-shifting content that sits at the intersection of cannabis, culture, education, and empowerment.
“I amplify voices from the underground — growers, legacy operators, healers, parents, and innovators — who are shaping the new cannabis economy,” Thunder explains. “My storytelling blends truth, advocacy, and elevation, designed to bring visibility and power back to the people who built this industry.”
From Storytelling to Movement
Thunder’s content journey started with one thing: telling the truth.
As a cannabis appraiser, real estate entrepreneur, and longtime advocate, she noticed how mainstream narratives were failing the culture that gave cannabis its roots. “The legacy market wasn’t getting its flowers,” she recalls. “People were still being punished for the same plant that built our industry.”
That realization sparked her mission. From picking up a mic and creating platforms like the Smoke Currency Tour to launching her bold editorial platform Pressure News Media, Thunder transformed her personal truth into a movement that now amplifies voices across the nation.
Building with the Industry’s Best
Thunder’s portfolio includes collaborations with some of the most influential names in cannabis and culture: The Jack Herer Cup, Women in Cannabis Expo, Cincy Magazine, Sensi Magazine, The Real Cannabis Entrepreneur Conference, Minorities for Medical Marijuana, Women in Cannabis Chamber of Commerce, SeedCrest, Latinas in Cannabis, and Tetra Farm (Switzerland).
Through Proud Mary Cannabis, she’s produced and hosted major cultural events such as The Cannabis Music Awards, The Clawback Conversations, and The Smoke Currency Tour, alongside hosting performances for major artists like Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Afroman, and Summer Walker.
Beyond her partnerships, Thunder has launched two lifestyle and cannabis brands — City Girls and The Candy Trap Collection — celebrating empowerment, sensuality, and ownership in plant medicine culture.
What’s Next: Pressure News Media Debuts at MJBizCon
Thunder’s passion for cannabis culture and advocacy will take center stage again this year at MJBizCon. After hosting the Oklahoma State Takeoverin 2024, she’s returning with even more momentum.
“This year, I’m thrilled to debut Pressure News Media — America’s Cannabis + Culture Tabloid,” she says. “It’s bold, provocative, and designed to give voice to the people shaping cannabis from the ground up.”
She’s also ready to spark conversation on a topic close to her heart: pediatric cannabis. “As a mother and caregiver, this is the first year MJBizCon will openly acknowledge that conversation, and it’s long overdue.”
Why MJBizCon Matters
For Thunder, MJBizCon is far more than a conference — it’s a convergence of culture, connection, and commerce.
“MJBizCon is where legacy meets legal and knowledge meets opportunity,” she says. “It’s not just about business — it’s about connection, culture, and collaboration. You can’t fake knowledge, and MJBizCon is where the real builders, cultivators, and innovators show up to push this industry forward. It’s where stories turn into strategy and ideas turn into legacy.” Interested in attending MJBizCon? Register Today.
