Sarah Lee is an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for Cannabis Operations and Plant-Based Wellness at Northern Michigan University. She holds an M.S. in Plant Breeding, Genetics, and Biotechnology from Michigan State University and bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of Utah.


Before joining NMU, Sarah worked in large-scale cannabis cultivation, overseeing production and applying plant science and process improvement methods to crop care and operational efficiency. Her research background in plant breeding and her industry experience inform her teaching on cannabis production, including the practical tradeoffs between seed and clonal propagation.
