Barton is the principal attorney and founder of the Michigan-based Cannabis Legal Group, which specializes in marijuana-related legal issues. He has specialized in cannabis law since the 2008 enactment of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act. Barton also serves as an official spokesperson for the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol and a council member of the Marijuana Law Section of the Michigan Bar Association.
